January: New York City, New York
A dream trip. The traveling crew, Sara, Daniel, Lauren and myself, made our way to the Big Apple. I had never been and I was so excited to finally go. Adding my favorite traveling bunch made the trip all that much better. We each picked something to do during our time there and each of our choices really let us see the city. It was chilly but, not what we thought it would be like considering we choose to go to New York in January. Highlights of the trip were walking through Central Park, visiting the Guggenheim, Grand Central Station, spending the day at the Chelsea Market, breakfast at Tipsy Parson, and our numerous dinners of champagne and oysters. NYC was everything I wanted it to be and then some. I can't wait til I can go back.
Just a gal in the city.

March: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Jon and I headed to Punta Cana to see two of dear friends get married, Nick and Carrie Garcia. The trip was in March and it was exactly what we needed to get through the terrible cold month of February. As soon as we arrived we put on our swimsuits and headed down to one of the many resort pools. We were immediately greeted by the Nick, Carrie, and the entire Garcia/Grahl group of friends and family. For the rest of the trip, most of our days were spent at the pool where 10 a.m. cocktails are not only completely normal but, they are encouraged. Evenings were filled with dinners, conversations with friends, and nights outside in the warm, Dominican air. Of course the best part of the trip was seeing N & C getting hitched.
Where many a cocktail was had.
May: Northport, Michigan
My first time visiting Northport and for a fantastic reason, Casey Joy's Bachelorette Party. We rented a beautiful, historic home right near the water and it was the perfect size for the ten of us. All Casey wanted was a relaxing weekend away and we had just that. We made sure to see the local sights while we were there which included Tandem Ciders (if you're ever there, make sure you sample the Penny Smack) and a delicious seafood dinner at the Knot.

June: Holland, Michigan
Our annual Pure Michigan Trip. This year Sara, Lauren, and I headed to Holland, Michigan. We stayed in the cutest rental house and took in all that Holland had to offer which included laying in the sun, visiting the downtown farmer's market, and making dinner with our findings. Days were spent at the beach and evenings on our pack patio chatting for hours over an ice-cold Pimm's cup.

Farmer's Market Peonies. I couldn't resist!
Pie was so good, we had it for breakfast. Yum.
August: Chicago, Illinois/St. Joseph, Michigan/Paw Paw Lake, Michigan
I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate Jon's birthday than a trip to Chicago for the three day music festival, Lollapalooza. Jon had never been to Chicago in the summer and had never been to Lollapalooza. When planning his birthday this year it was the obvious choice. Highlights of the trip: Mumford and Son's on Saturday night followed by the best birthday sushi dinner in honor of Jon, Queens of the Stone Age, listening to The Lumineers from the Thorny Rose Wine Tent, meeting up with Lauren and Sarah throughout the weekend and spending time outside the festival in the city.
August also allowed a quick girls weekend away with Lauren and Amy. Read about our adventures here.
Labor Day weekend Jon and I took a "last day of summer" trip to St. Joseph, Michigan. Another first for him and a favorite Pure Michigan location of mine. Spent the day at Silver Beach and of course ended it all with pizza at Silver Beach Pizza.
It's Jon's Birthday!
